said it appointed Nick Kormeluk vice president of investor relations. Kormeluk will oversee the expansion of the company's investor relations program and serve as a senior financial company spokesman. Most recently, Kormeluk was responsible for building the investor relations department and managing the market research department for Broadcom Corp., Irvine, Calif. Kormeluk succeeds Renee Bergquist, who was named to the newly created position of director, financial controls. In this new position, Bergquist will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and compliance with the requirements of the new Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

ROCKER NAMED FRESH BRANDS VP, RETAIL OPERATIONS

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- Fresh Brands here last week said John Rocker was appointed vice president of retail operations, effective Feb. 17. Rocker succeeds Bill Jacobson, who retired from the company. Previously, Rocker was vice president of operations for Homeland Holding Corp., a 65-store supermarket chain based in Oklahoma City. Prior to that, he held a variety of jobs at Kroger Co., Cincinnati, including positions in district operations management, human resources, labor relations and risk management.

WINN-DIXIE ELEVATES HENRY, JUDD TO SR. VPS

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie Stores here last week said it promoted David F. Henry to senior vice president of marketing, and Richard C. Judd to senior vice president of logistics, manufacturing and enterprise program management office. Henry joined Winn-Dixie in October 2001 as vice president, marketing, after serving at Price Chopper, Schenectady, N.Y., and Star Markets, Boston. Judd joined Winn-Dixie in May 2001 as vice president of warehousing and distribution after spending 20 years with Fleming Cos., Dallas.
