Roundy's Names Division Head
Loggia has been named president of Cardinal Foods, the Columbus, Ohio-based division of Roundy's here. He succeeds Michael Eggleton, who has left the company.
Loggia also was named regional vice president of operations for Roundy's Ohio region. In this new position, he will oversee operations at Cardinal Foods and Scot Lad Foods, Lima, Ohio.
Loggia was vice president of distribution for Food 4 Less Supermarkets, La Habra, Calif. He will report to Jerry Lestina, president and chief operating officer of Roundy's.
In another change, Mark Mikosz has been named Roundy's corporate director of financial and retail services, a new position. He was president of Roundy's Midland grocery division, Westville, Ind.
Succeeding Mikosz is Gregg Claassen, formerly vice president and general manager of the Midland division. No successor will be named to that post.
Mikosz will report to Robert Ranus, corporate vice president and chief financial officer. Claassen will report to Mike Schmitt, corporate vice president of the North Central region.
Gary Koch, corporate controller, will assume the new position of director of internal audit, which will expand the responsibilities he had as controller. He will report to Charles Kosmaier, vice president of logistics and planning.
Delchamps Appoints Senior VP
MOBILE, Ala -- Patrick Curran has been named senior vice president of sales and merchandising at Delchamps here.
He succeeds Larry S. Griffin, who has been named vice president of planning and development, a new position.
Curran most recently was senior vice president of marketing at Acme Markets, Malvern, Pa.
Griffin, who will direct Delchamps' long-range planning and development, has been with the company 29 years. Both Curran and Griffin report to Randy Delchamps, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Weis Names Rich Executive VP
SUNBURY, Pa. -- Weis Markets here has named Norman S. Rich executive vice president, a new position.
Rich, whose title had been vice president and secretary, will continue his duties as secretary. He will report to Sigfried Weis, president of the 141-unit chain.
Rich also is a member of Weis' board of directors. He joined Weis in 1964 as director of quality control and was named director of bakery and deli merchandising in 1968.
Rich was vice president of store operations from 1980 through 1992, at which time he was named vice president and secretary. Previously, Rich was assistant to the vice president of operations and director of store operations.
Sansolo Is Said To Be Joining FMI
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Michael Sansolo, vice president and editor-in-chief of Progressive Grocer, a trade publication based here, is expected to join the Food Marketing Institute, Washington, in an executive capacity. Sansolo's exact job title and duties had not been determined as of last week. It is expected he will report to Tim Hammonds, FMI president and chief executive officer.
