OAKBROOK, Ill. -- David L. Bere, former president of the breakfast division of The Quaker Oats Co., has been named president and chief executive officer of McCain Foods Inc. here.

Bere's new position was created after the consolidation of McCain Foods and McCain Ellio's was announced in March.

He is replacing both McCain Foods former president Bill Voss, now president and chief executive officer of Intrepid Food Holdings Inc., Chicago, and Tim Driscoll, McCain Ellio's former president. Driscoll has since been named senior vice president of operations for McCain.

Bere will oversee the newly consolidated company and will report to Howard Mann, president and chief executive officer of McCain Foods' Canadian-based parent company, McCain Foods Ltd.
