Supervalu Adds Executive VP
u here has named Mike Carter to the new position of executive vice president of the company's Midwest region.
The Midwest region's vice president of category management, vice president of retail marketing and advertising director report to Carter. Carter reports to Jim Campbell, president of the Midwest region.
Carter was director of retail operations for San Antonio-based H.E. Butt Grocery Co.
A&P Taps Merchandising VP
MONTVALE, N.J. -- A&P here has appointed John Kirk to the new post of vice president of grocery merchandising. His duties include integrating all of the company's major grocery functions into one department, the company said.
He is also responsible for helping the company develop and execute a new grocery strategy, the company said. Kirk is also in charge of corporate brands and central purchasing.
Kirk, who reports to George Graham, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, was vice president of sales and merchandising for the company's Super Fresh group.
