Winn-Dixie General Counsel Resigns
Zahra Jr., senior vice president and general counsel of Winn-Dixie stores here, resigned last week to spend more time with his family and pursue other interests, the company stated in a release.
Zahra has been with Winn-Dixie since 1995, when he joined the company as vice president and general counsel. Prior to joining the company, he was the managing partner of the Jacksonville office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & McRae.
Amen Serves Third Term as Chairman
LOS ANGELES -- Directors of Unified Western Grocers here have re-elected Lou Amen, chairman of Super A Foods here, to his third consecutive one-year term as chairman. Amen has been chairman of Unified, a member-owned cooperative, since its formation in 1999 and was chairman of its predecessor company, Certified Grocers of California, for the three prior years and for three additional years between 1990 and 1993.
New board officers are David Bennett, co-owner of Mollie Stone's Markets, Mill Valley, Calif., first vice president, and Richard L. Wright, president of Wright's Foodliner, Grant's Pass, Ore., second vice chairman.
Lajeunesse Takes Albertson's Position
MAITLAND, Fla. -- Albertson's here has named Jim F. Lajeunesse as vice president, marketing, of the company's Florida division.
Previously, Lajeunesse was vice president, nonperishables/marketing and merchandising, for Lowes Foods, Winston-Salem, N.C.
