Supervalu Names Frank Senior VP
re said Mike Frank has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of merchandising for its retail food companies, effective today. He reports to Bill Bolton, corporate executive vice president, president and chief operating officer, retail food companies.
Before taking the new position, Frank was senior vice president, sales and merchandising, at Rainbow Foods, Minneapolis.
Bashas' Taps Human Resources VP
CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Bashas' here said that Michael Gantt has been promoted to senior vice president, Human Resources. He reports to Wayne C. Manning, president of Bashas'.
He succeeds Fred Felix, who retired in 1998.
In other related moves, Mark Barnett has been promoted to senior vice president, Sales and Merchandising, a new position. He also reports to Manning.
New Day at Sears, Roebuck & Co.
CHICAGO -- Sears, Roebuck & Co. here said it has named Julian C. Day, former executive vice president and chief financial officer of Safeway, as its new chief financial officer, effective March 22.
He will be one of four executive vice presidents reporting to Arthur Martinez, 58, the company's CEO; Sears has not yet designated a successor to Martinez. Day will succeed Gary L. Crittenden., who left Sears last year.
