Currie to Retire From Weston

Ltd., the majority owner of Loblaw Cos., Canada's largest supermarket company and wholesale food distributor, here said Monday that Richard J. Currie will step down as president and a director of the company at its next annual meeting, May 8. The company said W. Galen Weston, chairman and grandson of the company's founder, will then assume the additional responsibility of president. Currie was president of Loblaw from 1976 to 2000 and has been president of George Weston since 1996. He was also chairman, Food Marketing Institute, Washington, from 1991 to 1993, the first non-U.S. retailer to hold that post.

Wild Oats Names Dunlap CFO

BOULDER, Colo. -- Wild Oats Markets here said last week Edward F. Dunlap was named chief financial officer. He succeeds Frances Rathke, who had been interim CFO since July. Most recently, Dunlap was vice president and finance director in the European division of The Gap, San Francisco.
