Stop & Shop Appoints Boone

& Shop Supermarket Co. here said that Joel Boone has been named director of labor relations.

Boone is responsible for directing the day-to-day labor relations programs for the company, and he is also involved in negotiating labor contracts. He reports directly to William M. Vaughn 3rd, executive vice president of human resources and support services.

Since joining Stop & Shop in 1985 as associate counsel, Boone has held a number of different positions, including counsel and director of employment and regulatory law, a position to which he was named in March of 1997. He received his bachelor's degree in government and international affairs from Harvard University, and his law degree from Georgetown University.

Albertson's Names Two VPs

BOISE, Idaho -- Albertson's here has announced two vice presidential appointments.

Marcia E. Williams has been named vice president of diversity and community relations. Williams first joined Albertson's in 1992 as an attorney in the labor relations department. Most recently, she was working as director of human resources and diversity, a position she has held since 1995.

In this new position, Williams reports directly to Steve Young, senior vice president of human resources.

Peggy C. McReynolds takes on the title of vice president of bakery sales. McReynolds started working at Albertson's in 1979 as a checker. Since that time, she has worked as a grocery manager, store director, grocery sales manager, district sales manager, and, most recently, director of bakery sales in the Boise general office. She reports directly to Carl Pennington, executive vice president of corporate merchandising.

Piggly Wiggly Taps Vice Presidents

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. here has announced two vice presidential appointments. Danny Camp has been named regional vice president of the Midlands-Pee Dee area, a position recently created because of company growth. Camp, who has 20 years of experience in the grocery business, has worked at Piggly Wiggly 15 years, most recently as district manager for the Columbia region. Steve Harkins has been named regional vice president of the Lowcountry-Savannah region, another recently created position. Of his 15 years with Piggly Wiggly, Harkins has spent the last 13 as district manager for the Charleston region.

Both Camp and Harkins report directly to Jerry Durham, vice president of retail operations.

Network Grocers Adds Posts

LOS ANGELES -- Network Grocers Exchange here has announced Keith Granirer has joined the company as chief financial officer and Raymond Jones has joined as senior vice president, both new posts. Granirer reports to Sal Chala, chief executive officer. Granirer most recently worked with Gursey Schneider, an accounting firm based here. Jones comes to NGE from Sav Max Foods, formerly Food 4 Less, Modesto, Calif. He spent 14 years with Sav Max, most recently as vice president of grocery merchandising. Jones also reports to Chala.
