Genuardi's Names Ciotti Director Of Marketing

Safeway CEO Joins Kohl's Board
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. -- Kohl's Corp. here said it has named Steven A. Burd, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., to its board. Burd joined Safeway as president in 1992. He was named CEO and a member of the retailer's board the following year. He has Safeway's chairman since 1998. Kohl's is a specialty department store that sells national brand apparel, shoes, accessories and home products.
Dorcy To Head Retail At Nash Finch
MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co. here said last week that Jim Dorcy has been promoted to senior vice president and named head of retail. Dorcy succeeds Mike Peterson.
Madsen To Retire From FDI
FALLS CHURCH, Va. -- Food Distributors International here said last week Dennis R. Madsen will retire as vice president for educational and operational services, effective Dec. 1. Madsen has been with FDI for 14 years. He has been responsible for developing the association's overall educational programming activities, including its annual fall Productivity Convention and Exposition. FDI said Madsen will continue to provide the association with consulting services for logistics and other areas.
Dunst Named Chief Technology Officer
BOISE, Idaho -- Albertson's here said last week it has named Robert Dunst executive vice president and chief technology officer. Dunst, who will report to Larry Johnston, chairman and chief executive officer, will also be a member of the company's executive committee. In his new position, his responsibilities will include oversight of the company's entire technology function, including information, process and communication. Most recently, Dunst was vice president, applications development, Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif.
