Stevens Named to Spartan Board
rtan Stores here announced the election of Kenneth T. Stevens to its board. Currently a private investor based in Columbus, Ohio, Stevens is former president and chief operating officer of the Taco Bell division of Pepsico, Purchase, N.Y.
Cott Hires Coke Executive
TORONTO -- Cott Corp. here said last week it has named John K. Sheppard president of its Tampa, Fla.-based U.S. division and executive vice president. In his 20-year career with the Coca Cola Co., Atlanta, Sheppard held a variety of executive positions in sales, marketing, strategic planning and the management of international operations.
La Beau Joins Fleming as Senior VP
DALLAS -- Fleming here said Tim La Beau has joined the company as senior vice president, operations. He will be responsible for Fleming divisions in Garland, Texas, and Superior and LaCrosse, Wis., and will report to Steve Davis, executive vice president and president, wholesale. La Beau was most recently president and chief executive officer, American Sales Co., a subsidiary of Ahold, Zandaam, Netherlands.
The company also said Mark Batinec, senior vice president of operations for Fleming's Northeast, King of Prussia, Pa., and South Brunswick, N.J. divisions, has left the company. His responsibilities have been assumed by Tom Zatina, who will add them to his current tasks as senior vice president of operations of several Midwest divisions.
