Doyle Resigns From Furr's
Furr's Supermarkets here said W.R. "Buz" Doyle has resigned as president and chief operating officer.
Doyle, who joined the company eight years ago, had been president and chief operating officer since 1993. Furr's said that under Doyle's leadership the company became New Mexico's leading grocery retailer.
Jan Friederich, Furr's chairman and chief executive officer, will assume Doyle's responsibilities.
Chief Financial Officer Leaves Arden
LOS ANGELES -- Arden Group here said last week Ernest T. Klinger has resigned as chief financial officer to take a position with another, unnamed company.
Arden said it is actively seeking a successor. Klinger had been with the company for 18 years in various capacities.
Arden Group is the parent company of 10 Gelson's Markets and three Mayfair Markets in Southern California.
Fleming Hires Real Estate VP
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fleming Cos. here last week said Chuck Hall has joined the company in the newly created position of senior vice president of real estate and store development.
Along with his real estate management and development roles, Hall will be a corporate officer.
He will report to John Standley, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Hall comes to Fleming with 27 years of real estate development and management experience. Most recently, he was senior vice president at Eagle Hardware & Garden, Renton, Wash., and vice president at PETsMART, Phoenix.
