Yoke's Names President, CEO

s Washington Foods here has named John A. Bole as its new president and chief executive officer. He oversees operation of the eight-store chain, which has stores in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

Bole, who was chief financial officer, succeeds Charles M. Yoke as president and CEO. Yoke continues with the company as chairman.

Roger & Marv's Adds Maurer

KENOSHA, Wis. -- Roger & Marv's Supervalu here has added Jeff Maurer to its staff as general manager, with responsibility for all store operations. In this new position, Maurer reports to store owner Marv Jenkins.

Before joining Roger & Marv's, Maurer spent 20 years with Byerly's, Edina, Minn., before that chain was acquired by Lund Food Holdings, Edina.

Maurer joined Byerly's as a part-time bagger while in high school and rose through the organization to numerous management assignments.

He led the company's expansion into Illinois, and laid the groundwork as general manager for the opening of Byerly's Highland Park store early last year. He was general manager of several stores and later became director of retail operations, overseeing activities at all 10 stores.

Randalls Appoints Senior VP

HOUSTON -- Randalls Food Markets here has named John Sullivan senior vice president of operations for its newly expanded Houston division. He reports to Randall Onstead, president and chief executive officer.

The company said it will merge its 15-store Austin, Texas, division into its 54-store Houston division, with the new entity called the Houston division.

All 69 units in that division operate under the Randalls banner. In addition, the company operates 52 Tom Thumb stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.

Sullivan's responsibilities include overseeing the operations and security of all stores in the newly expanded Houston division.

Sullivan was most recently division vice president of the Austin division. He has also been division vice president of the Houston division, district manager for the Houston division and a store director.

Sullivan joined Randalls in 1982 as a manager trainee, working in various Houston stores. He began his career in 1975 with the Youngstown, Ohio, division of Giant Eagle Supermarkets, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Ruddick Corp. Names Kenny

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Ruddick Corp. here, parent company of Harris Teeter, has named Katharine W. Kenny vice president of investor relations. She is responsible for communications with the investment community and company shareholders. She reports to Richard N. Brigden, vice president of finance. Prior to Kenny's appointment, investor relations were managed by Jimmy Stephens, assistant secretary to the board. Stephens plans to retire in the near future, after 51 years with Ruddick.
