PENN TRAFFIC NAMES RETAIL, CPG VETERAN NEW CFO

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Penn Traffic Co. here said it has named Tod C. Nestor as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was formerly vice president, strategic planning, and treasurer, as well as vice president, finance, and controller, at American Eagle Outfitters. He also had prior experience at J.H. Heinz, Bacardi, WR Grace, Stern Stewart & Co and PepsiCo. At Penn Traffic, Nestor will report directly to Bob Panasuk, president and chief executive officer, with responsibility for managing all finance functions. Nestor succeeds Ben Jones, who works for an outside firm providing financial services to Penn Traffic. Jones succeeded Randy P. Martin, who was named senior vice president, finance, in March 2005 following the resignation of Robert B. Dimond after less than three months as CFO.

FOOD LION PROMOTES HARRISON TO CIO POSITION

SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion here has promoted Scott Harrison senior vice president of technology and efficiency and chief information officer. He succeeds Terry Morgan, who became senior vice president and CIO for Delhaize Group, Food Lion's parent company. Harrison brings to Food Lion 25 years of experience in the supermarket industry. He began his career at Hannaford Bros., another Delhaize banner, in 1982. In 2000, he joined the Food Lion organization as procurement synergies manager. More recently, Harrison was vice president of operations for Food Lion's Southern and Central divisions.

PRICE CHOPPER NAMES TWO TO TECHNOLOGY VP SLOTS

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets here has named Tony Farah vice president of technical services and chief technology officer. He will oversee the operations of the data center, help desk, technical maintenance and technical services for the 115-store chain. Farah comes to Price Chopper from Unilever Corp., where he was responsible for global technology. Price Chopper has also promoted Greg Zeh to vice president of enterprise business. He will manage all aspects of computer systems development for the chain and the main office complex. Zeh has worked at Price Chopper since 1977.
