AMI Names Three to Posts

e American Meat Institute, a national trade association representing meat packers and processors, has appointed Sandra A. Wheeler director of administration and human resources. Prior to this, Wheeler managed human resources for the Airlines Reporting Corp., where she worked for more than 10 years. Wheeler reports to AMI Senior Vice President of Administration, Convention and Member Services Ron Nunnery. She replaced Elizabeth S. Biehn, who resigned from AMI. The association also named Anderton Burke controller. A certified public accountant, he previously performed accounting and financial consulting for the TAMCAN Corp., Fredericksburg, Va., and Montreal. Burke also reports to Nunnery. He replaced Kimberly A. Wilson, who left AMI for another position. AMI also appointed Josee Daoust public affairs manager and on-line editor. Prior to this, Daoust was a newspaper reporter for the Prince George's Journal in Lanham, Md. She reports to Janet Riley, vice president of public affairs. Daoust replaced James Ratchford, who left the association for another position.

Tropicana Fills Grocery Postion

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Tropicana Products has appointed Ken Messick director of grocery, national accounts and Power of One, which is a PepsiCo initiative. Overall, he is responsible for development and execution of company strategies for large national grocery chains, as well as coordination and support of Tropicana's national account teams across all geographical regions. In regards to Power of One, he will serve as Tropicana's representative to the initiative as it relates to the grocery channel. Prior to this, Messick was director of strategic planning, Eastern United States. He joined Tropicana in 1996 from the Quaker Oats Co.
