CLARK JOINS WILD OATS
Wild Oats Markets here named David B. Clark senior vice president of store operations for the company's Wild Oats Natural Grocer format stores, effective immediately. There are currently 72 Natural Grocer stores. The format is expected to grow by 50% over the next three years, according to the retailer. In this newly created position, Clark will be responsible for supervising all store operations of Wild Oats Natural Marketplace and Nature's stores. Prior to his appointment, Clark most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Homeland Stores, Oklahoma City. Before that, he held executive positions in operations, merchandising and marketing with leading retailers, including Bruno's Supermarkets, the Cub Foods division of Supervalu, and American Stores/Jewel Cos.
SOBEYS NAMES SCOTT PRESIDENT, ATLANTIC REGION
STELLARTON, Nova Scotia -- Sobeys here named Michael Scott president, operations, for the company's Atlantic region. He succeeds John K. Lynn, who is retiring. Scott is a 22-year veteran of the consumer packaged goods industry, with experience in the United Kingdom and Canada at Nestle, General Foods, Coca-Cola and Alfresh Beverages Canada. Also, Bill Nelson was named senior vice president and general manager, wholesale operations, Atlantic region, and Rob Sobey was named senior vice president, merchandising and marketing, Atlantic region. Both report to Scott. Nelson previously was senior vice president, retail operations, Sobeys West, and Sobey previously was vice president, performance development.
