Shopper's Creates Two VP Slots

ood Warehouse here has created two new positions for longtime employees Lou Davis and Sandra J. Perkins, both of whom now report directly to president Mark Flint.

Davis, who has been with the company for 26 years, is now senior vice president of store operations and oversees operations in all of Shopper's 34 stores. He was vice president of store operations.

Perkins, who has been with the company for 11 years, was named vice president of marketing and public relations.

Perkins, who has been Shopper's broadcast spokesperson since 1986, was assistant vice president of promotions and broadcast marketing. She has directed the company's co-op advertising, promotions and marketing programs since 1988.

FMI Appoints Tully, Sadick

WASHINGTON -- The Food Marketing Institute here has named Brian E. Tully a senior vice president with responsibilities including oversight of all operational aspects of conventions and meetings, such as facilities, outside contractors, on-site transportation, decor, audiovisual requirements and staging security. This is a new position. Tully joined the FMI in 1982 as exhibit sales manager. He was named to his most recent post, vice president of convention services, in 1989.

In a separate announcement, the FMI named Craig S. Sadick vice president of state government relations. He succeeds Peter Larkin, who left the FMI to become president of the California Grocers Association. Sadick's responsibilities include developing, implementing and administering programs to support member companies' positions on legislative and regulatory issues in all 50 states. He will also coordinate the FMI's grass roots efforts with state and local retail as well as grocer associations.

Tully reports to Tim Hammonds, president of the FMI. Sadick reports to Harry Sullivan, senior vice president of public affairs.

Minyard Adds Top Positions

COPPELL, Texas -- Minyard Food Stores here disclosed a series of upper management appointments designed "to position ourselves for the future," said J.L. Williams, president. The executive changes include the following:

Gary Price, formerly vice president of merchandising, was named vice president of category management, a new position.

Steve Killibrew, who was president of Carnival Food Stores, succeeds Price as vice president of merchandising.

James Cook, formerly a district manager, succeeds Killibrew with the title of director of Carnival Food Stores.

Debbie Ellis, previously director of public relations, was named vice president of public relations.

Marlon Pritchett, who was director of retail services, was appointed vice president of retail services.

Doug Rodden, formerly director of purchasing, was named vice president of purchasing. Madelline Kelly, previously director of training, is now vice president of training.

Ben Rowe, who was director of risk management, was appointed vice president of risk management.
