RALPHS GROCERY CO., COMPTON, CALIF., a division of Kroger Co., Cincinnati, said last week it has named James Patitucci to the position of senior vice president for sales and marketing. Patitucci succeeds Tom Dahlen, who left Ralphs to join Furr's Supermarkets, Albuquerque, N.M., as president and chief executive officer. Patitucci, who reports to Sam Duncan, Ralphs president, began working in the supermarket industry 31 years ago as a clerk's helper. Most recently, he was group vice president of grocery for Ralphs.
His appointment brings the number of A&P board members to 12.
ASSOCIATED GROCERS OF NEW ENGLAND, MANCHESTER, N.H., said it has appointed Steve Murphy vice president of finance and administration. Murphy, who joined AG New England as assistant controller 12 years ago, was director of finance and administration.
AG New England also said it named Mike Violette to the position of vice president of sales and support services. Bringing with him 20 years of experience in the supermarket industry, Violette joined the company last year. He was director of sales and support services.
