Report: Lewis Back at Consumers
. Lewis has reportedly returned to Consumers Markets here as president.
Lewis left the 23-store chain last summer to become executive vice president and chief operating officer of Delchamps, Mobile, Ala. At the time, he was chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Lewis left Delchamps last October, citing differences in management philosophy.
Jack Hubbs, the successor to Lewis as president of Consumers Markets, left the retailer in March to join Target Stores, Minneapolis, as its supercenter grocery director.
That opened the way for Lewis to return to his position as president of Consumers, industry sources told SN.
Lewis could not be reached for comment last week. Officials at Consumers, which operates 19 stores in southern Missouri and four in northern Arkansas, declined to comment on the report.
