Furr's Names 2 Merchandisers
r's Supermarkets here, as part of a restructuring move, has named David Dowd and E.G. Gonzales deli field merchandisers for newly drawn districts.
Dowd, with the company for 16 years, was most recently a store manager. He will be responsible for the west Texas district.
Gonzales, with the company six and a half years, also was a store manager. He is assigned to the El Paso district.
In their new posts, both report to Tom Ross, director of deli merchandising for the 76-unit chain.
Doskocil Unit Appoints Managers
HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- Doskocil Cos.' Food Service division here has named Barbara Rainwater and Cindy Maher region managers.
Rainwater and Maher succeed David Thrasher and Reed Hansen, respectively, both of whom have left the company.
Before joining Doskocil, Rainwater was regional sales manager for the prepared foods division of International Multi Foods, Riverside, Calif., which Doskocil has since acquired. Maher was with Bil Mar Foods, Zeeland, Mich., where she was responsible for a broker network.
In their new posts, Rainwater and Maher report to Lee Harrison, vice president of the Food Service division.
