Coca-Cola Taps Unit President
has named Ralph H. Cooper president of its Coca-Cola Foods subsidiary here. Cooper was executive vice president and chief operating officer. He was also a senior vice president of Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, a position he will continue to hold.
"My No. 1 job as president of Coca-Cola Foods is to unleash the full power of our brands and our people to capture the enormous opportunities for growth that exist in the fruit beverage business worldwide," Cooper told SN.
Cooper succeeds Timothy J. Haas, who is joining Coca-Cola Co.'s soft drink business as executive vice president of the Latin American Group. Haas continues as vice president of the Coca-Cola Co.
Cooper joined Coca-Cola in 1965 and has held a number of marketing and management positions. Prior to his arrival at Coca-Cola Foods in January, Cooper served as president of the company's Eastern European Community group.
Coca-Cola Foods manufactures and markets Minute Maid juices, punches and lemonades; Hi-C fruit drinks; Five Alive citrus beverage; Bright & Early breakfast beverage and Bacardi fruit mixes. Coca-Cola Foods Canada, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Foods, markets the Minute Maid and Five Alive brands in Canada.
Ocean Spray Picks Next CEO
LAKEVILLE-MIDDLEBORO, Mass. -- Ocean Spray Cranberries here has named Thomas E. Bullock the successor to its current president and chief executive officer, John S. Llewellyn Jr.
Llewellyn, 60, will retire in January 1997.
Bullock, 48, is currently senior vice president of operations and planning. He will become executive vice president and chief operating officer on Sept. 1 and will report to Llewellyn during the 16-month transition period.
Bullock joined Ocean Spray in 1981 as division business manager. He was appointed director of business operations in 1985 and vice president of business operations in 1986. In 1993, he was named senior vice president.
Prior to joining Ocean Spray, Bullock held sales and marketing positions at Hanover Brands, Welch Foods and Carnation.
Ocean Spray Cranberries is an agricultural cooperative owned by some 750 cranberry and 150 grapefruit growers throughout the United States and Canada. The cooperative has annual sales approaching $1.3 billion.
Austin, Nichols Appoints VP
NEW YORK -- Austin, Nichols & Co. Soft Drink division here has named Douglas H. Kellam to the new position of vice president of marketing and sales for Yoo-Hoo and Orangina.
Kellam will oversee Austin, Nichol's 52-person national sales force for the Yoo-Hoo and Orangina brands. He will also run the marketing department for both brands.
Kellam joins Austin, Nichols from Pepsi-Cola, where he was most recently market unit general manager for northern New Jersey.
