Team Two Thousand Adds Two
Team Two Thousand, a fresh-food consulting group based here, has added Jim McDevitt, formerly director of perishables for Thrifty Foods, Burlington, Wash., and Bob Trickel, former vice president of Red Food Stores, Chattanooga, Tenn., to its team of consultants.
McDevitt was with Thrifty Foods for two years. Before that, he was director of sales and marketing at Olson's Food Stores, Seattle, and had held positions at Associated Grocers, Seattle. In his new position, he is based in the Puget Sound region.
Trickel most recently was product development manager for Bryan Packing Co., West Point, Miss. Before joining Bryan three years ago, he was with Red Food Stores for 13 years. He is now based in the Memphis area.
In their new posts, McDevitt and Trickel report to Bill Justin, president.
Premier Food Appoints VP
MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. -- Mike Snell has been named to the new post of vice president of the deli/home-meal replacement division of Premier Food Brokerage here.
Until recently, Snell was vice president of deli/bakery for Edwards Super Food Stores, Carlisle, Pa., a subsidiary of Ahold USA, Atlanta.
Snell heads Premier's supermarket deli and HMR product merchandising.
Hansel 'n Gretel Names VP
GLENDALE, N.Y. -- Hansel 'n Gretel, a producer of deli meats based here, has named Wayne Williamson vice president of sales and marketing.
Williamson succeeds Rick Brown, who has left the company.
With 30 years of food industry experience, Williamson most recently was an industry consultant based in Miami. Prior to that, he held management positions with Kroger Co., Cincinnati; Beatrice Foods, Chicago; and Continental Grain, New York.
Williamson reports to Milton S. Ratner, Hansel 'n Gretel president.
Hobart Taps HACCP Manager
TROY, Ohio -- Hobart Corp. here has named Martha Harrison to the new position of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points systems development manager.
With Hobart since 1990, Harrison was most recently international marketing manager for food retail. Prior to that, she was controller of the company's weighing and wrapping division.
In her new post, Harrison reports to John McDonough, vice president of food-service marketing.
Baker's Gets Food-Service VP
OMAHA, Neb. -- George Kapalczynski has been appointed vice president of food service for Baker's Supermarkets, an 18-unit chain based here.
In this new position, Kapalczynski is responsible for in-store restaurants, bakeries and delis, as well as Baker's central kitchen and catering services facility.
He reports directly to Mike Petersen, president and chief operating officer, and Jack Baker, the company's chairman and chief executive officer.
Kapalczynski joined Baker's in 1992 as bakery director. He has also held positions with Jewel Supermarkets, Chicago, and Schnuck Markets, St. Louis, where he was vice president of bakery operations.
