D&W Appoints Bakery Director

&W Food Centers here has named Edward DeYoung director of bakery operations, a new position.

With D&W 25 years, DeYoung most recently was a store director. He also has held various bakery and deli positions at the corporate level. He will assume the responsibilities of Rich Zehr, bakery coordinator, who has been reassigned as a store director.

In his new post, DeYoung reports to Michael Eardley, director of food service for the 25-unit chain. In a related move, Kurt Baird has been named bakery merchandiser-product development specialist, a new position. With the company for seven years, Baird was most recently bakery department manager at store level. He will report to DeYoung.

Merchandiser Leaves Mayfair

ELIZABETH, N.J. -- Mary Gibson, bakery merchandising manager for Mayfair Super Markets here, has left the company. She was with Mayfair for 17 years.

As of last week, no successor had been named, and officials at Mayfair declined to say whether a successor was being sought.

Bakery Crafts Taps Sales Manager

CINCINNATI -- Bakery Crafts has named Ray Lippert national sales manager, a new position.

With the company since 1985, Lippert was most recently national accounts manager. No successor will be named for that position. How his former responsibilities will be handled is currently under review, a company spokesman said.

In his new post, Lippert reports to Jim Ginney, vice president of sales.
