Richfood Names Hatcher as VP
ne Hatcher has been appointed vice president and chief information officer at Richfood Holdings here, succeeding Bob Heise, who left the company.
Hatcher joined the company from Books-A-Million, Birmingham, Ala., where he was vice president of information systems. Prior to that he was with Publix Supermarkets, Lakeland, Fla., where he was responsible for systems development and technical support.
Richfood also announced the promotion of Douglas Young to vice president of transportation, Pennsylvania, a newly created position. Previously, he was director of logistics transportation Services at Rotelle, a Richfood subsidiary.

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- C&S Wholesale Grocers here has promoted Tim Defreitas to director of programming, a newly created position.
Defreitas, who has been with the company for 15 years, most recently served as programming manager. In his new role, he will be responsible for systems development in electronic data interchange, financial applications, buying logistics, warehouse systems, network applications and customer systems.
