Bi-Lo Names Marketing VP
Lo, based here, has named Ron Szczepanski vice president of produce and floral marketing.
Szczepanski succeeds Walter Ford, who retired from the position recently, according to a Bi-Lo official.
He is responsible for overseeing sales and profit budgets while enhancing the quality and variety image in produce.
Szczepanski, who has 20 years of produce experience, comes to Bi-Lo from Finast supermarkets, Maple Heights, Ohio.

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- C&S Wholesale Grocers here recently named Albert Grimaldi vice president of produce.
In the new position, Grimaldi oversees the 20-person produce sales staff, as well as all produce support functions.
Grimaldi, who joined C&S in 1990, reports to George Semanie, senior vice president of perishables.
C&S, the nation's fifth largest wholesaler and distributor of food and grocery products, supplies supermarkets on the East Coast from several New England-based warehouses.
Boskovich Appoints Garren
OXNARD, Calif. -- Donna M. Garren, Ph.D., was named director of research and development/product safety for Boskovich Farms, based here.
In this new position, Garren is responsible for research, new product development, product safety, quality assurance and the implementation of sanitation and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points programs.
Garren, who reports to Joe Boskovich, chief executive officer of Boskovich Farms, earned her Ph.D. in food science and technology from the University of Georgia. As a consultant for various food companies, she was responsible for determining food safety issues and facilitating the development of quality controls.
