AMI Adds Regulatory Position
son has been named director of regulatory affairs at the American Meat Institute.
In the new position, she is responsible for working with AMI's meat and poultry member companies to assist them with regulatory and technical issues.
Johnson, a veterinarian, was with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, where she served on the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point special team.
She reports to Jim Hodges, senior vice president of regulatory affairs.
Meat Board Appoints Reynolds
CHICAGO -- Catherine J. Reynolds has been named assistant director of information at the National Livestock and Meat Board here. It is a new position.
Reynolds was consumer information coordinator. She reports to Janet Helm, director of information.
Reynolds is responsible for assisting in the development and management of consumer and industry information programs.
Morningstar Names Division CEO
DALLAS -- Ed Zimmerman has been named chief executive officer of Morningstar West, a new division of Morningstar Group Co. here.
The new division, which was formed through the merger of two of Morningstar Group's food manufacturing companies -- Favorite Foods, Fullerton, Calif., and Avoset Foods, Pleasanton, Calif. -- is now based in Fullerton.
Avoset and Favorite Foods manufacture dairy and nondairy products including International Delight, a nondairy coffee creamer; Second Nature, a liquid egg alternative; and private-label yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream and ultra high temperature milk.
Zimmerman was most recently president and chief executive officer of Gardenia Foods Co., South Gate, Calif.
