WINN-DIXIE HIRES MARION CRAWFORDixie Stores here said Marion Crawford has joined the company as senior director of management and organizational development, a newly created position. She will report to the senior vice president of human resources, a position that is currently open. Before joining Winn-Dixie, Crawford was director of learning and performance management for CDI Corp., Philadelphia.

Before joining Winn-Dixie, Crawford was director of learning and performance management for CDI Corp., Philadelphia. She also has helped companies such as Rite Aid, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and Philip Morris develop human resources programs.

BI-LO NAMES NEW NONPERISHABLE MARKETING VP

MAULDIN, S.C. -- BI-LO here has appointed Tye Anthony senior vice president of nonperishable marketing, a newly created position. Anthony will be responsible for BI-LO's grocery, general merchandise, health and beauty care, and private-label product purchasing and category management.

Prior to joining BI-LO, Anthony held positions as vice president of grocery and group vice president of nonperishables at Randalls Food Markets, Houston.

NEW CFO IS NAMED AT LARRY'S MARKETS

SEATTLE -- Larry's Markets here has named Jackie Davidson chief financial officer. Davidson succeeds Ron Matasich, who left the company to pursue other opportunities in Arizona. Most recently, Davidson was financial chief for Penford Corp., a chemical company based in Englewood, Colo. Previously, she served as vice president of finance for the Cobalt Group, Seattle, which provides services to the automotive industry.

Gelson's Roulette Will Retire in June

ENCINO, Calif. -- Gelson's Markets here said Bill Roulette, senior vice president, operations, will retire on June 6 after 37 years with the company. Roulette will be succeeded by Dennis Holran, who will retain his title as senior director of operations.

Gelson, 68, joined the company in 1966 as manager of its third store. He spent 10 years running that store in Studio City, Calif., and the next two as manager of the company's Century City store before he was promoted to operations supervisor in 1978. He was named vice president, store operations, in 1994 and senior vice president in 1997

Roulette started his food industry career in 1949 as a box boy and apprentice produce clerk with Better Foods, then spent seven years with Vons Grocery Co. as a clerk and store director, and three years as a store director for Food Giant before joining Gelson's.
