KROGER NAMES WALL GROUP VP, HUMAN RESOURCES

CINCINNATI -- Kroger here said it has promoted Della Wall to group vice president of human resources, effective immediately. She also has been elected an officer of the company. Wall previously was corporate vice president of human resources, a position she has held since last June. Prior to that, she served in various capacities at Kroger and at SupeRx Drug Stores, where she began her career in 1971. She reports to David B. Dillon, chief executive officer.

SUPERVALU TAPS ARDEN CFO OLIVER AS CONTROLLER

MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here last week said it has named David Oliver vice president and controller, reporting to Sherry Smith, senior vice president, finance. Oliver most recently was chief financial officer at Arden Group, the Los Angeles-based operator of the 18-unit Gelson's Markets chain. He previously held positions in the finance departments of Hughes Family Markets and Vons, Los Angeles. Arden Group told SN it was seeking a successor to Oliver.
