ALBERTSONS NAMES MAC NAUGHTON SENIOR VP

Prior to his current position, Mac Naughton served as group vice president, grocery merchandising. He has spent his career working with both Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., and H. E. Butt Grocery, San Antonio. In his new role, Mac Naughton will lead Albertsons' merchandising efforts across food, general merchandise, health and beauty care, fuel and alcohol. He will report to Gabe Gabriel, executive vice president of merchandising and supply chain.
NGA APPOINTS PISTILLI VP AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
ARLINGTON, Va. -- National Grocers Association here selected Vincent A. Pistilli to join the company as vice president and chief financial officer. He will report to Thomas K. Zaucha, president and chief executive officer. "Vince Pistilli is a seasoned and respected professional with significant experience working with trade associations," said Zaucha in a prepared statement. Pistilli will be in charge of accounting, tax compliance and all aspects of financial reporting, as well as human resource administration. Prior to his current position, Pistilli was an audit partner in BDO Seidman's greater Washington, D.C., office. In his more than 17 years of public accounting experience, Pistilli has primarily worked for not-for-profit organizations.
JUNQUEIRO NAMED VP, OPERATIONS, AT SAVE MART
MODESTO, Calif. -- Save Mart Supermarkets said Steve Junqueiro has been named vice president, operations, for the 125-store chain. He succeeds Art Patch, who has moved laterally to become vice president of Food Maxx, the company's 40-store price-impact division, formerly headed by Bob Spengler. Spengler was named Save Mart president and chief operating officer a year ago. Junqueiro was formerly vice president, produce and floral, a position for which the company is seeking a successor.
ROUNDY'S TAPS BEATY TO HEAD RAINBOW DIVISION
MILWAUKEE -- Roundy's here said last week it has named Mark Beaty as vice president and general manager of its Minnesota retail division, where he will be responsible for overseeing operations of 31 Rainbow Foods stores. He succeeds Dale Riley, who resigned earlier this month. Beaty was formerly with H.E. Butt Grocery Co., San Antonio, where he held regional director positions in merchandising and store operations. He also led a major corporate process re-engineering project there, applying technology solutions to all major business units.
FEDIGAN EXITS AS HEAD OF CIES; MCCLAY TO MANAGE
PARIS -- CIES-The Food Business Forum here said last week that Richard Fedigan, president and chief executive officer, "will leave the organization with immediate effect." He had held those positions for six years and had been with CIES, an organization focusing on global food-related issues, for 15 years. "We are very grateful to him and wish him well for the future," said Pierre-Olivier Beckers, outgoing chairman of CIES. CIES said its board of directors has asked Alan McClay, chief operating officer, to manage the organization.
