MONTVALE, N.J. -- A&P here said last week it has named Brenda Galgano senior vice president and chief financial officer. She succeeds Mitchell P. Goldstein, who will leave the company after a transition period. Goldstein has been CFO since February 2002. Galgano has been corporate controller since 2002 and was named a senior vice president in 2004.

Stephen Slade has been named senior vice president, merchandising, succeeding Bob Panasuk, who has left the company after 10 years. Slade, senior vice president, operations, joined A&P in 2004 to oversee its New York-New Jersey region and has subsequently been in charge of the chain's fresh operations.
Paul Wiseman has been named to succeed Slade as senior vice president, operations. He was previously senior vice president, discount operations, A&P Canada, where he led the reorganization of the Food Basics chain there.
Allan Richards has been named senior vice president, human resources, labor relations and legal services. He has had oversight for labor relations and human resources and is adding direction of legal services to his responsibilities.
