BROUWER TO LEAVE AHOLD; ALBERT HEIN CEO TO FILL INess support officer, Arthur Brouwer, has resigned to accept a job at another company. ASSOCIATED GROCERS NAMES WIEDMANN VP, LOGISTICS

SEATTLE - Associated Grocers here has named John Wiedmann to vice president of logistics. Wiedmann comes to AG from Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., where he most recently was director of distribution in Seattle. Wiedmann succeeds Bill Kearney, who has left the company. He is responsible for the overall management of the company's warehouse distribution centers, including management of key vendors in support of transportation and logistics.

SHAMBER PROMOTED TO CFO AT UNITED NATURAL FOODS

DAYVILLE, Conn. - United Natural Foods here has promoted Mark E. Shamber to vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. He previously was vice president, chief accounting officer and corporate controller. Lisa N'Chonon will succeed Shamber as corporate controller. She had been assistant corporate controller since April 2004. Shamber had been corporate controller since June 2003, vice president since August 2005 and chief accounting officer since January 2006, taking on the responsibilities of former CFO and Treasurer Rick Puckett, who left the company in January.
