Creed Promoted to Senior VP at AG New England
PEMBROKE, N.H. - After one year as vice president of warehousing and transportation, Stephen Creed has been promoted to senior vice president of warehousing and transportation at Associated Grocers of New England. He is in charge of transportation and warehouse operations. Creed came to AG New England last year from Supervalu, where he was general manager of a distribution center in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
D'Agostino Names Director of Store Operations
LARCHMONT, N.Y. - D'Agostino Supermarkets here last week said it has promoted Stephen D'Agostino to the new position of director of store operations and has named Steve Rodman to succeed him as director of deli merchandising. D'Agostino is now responsible for developing and directing policies, plans and programs to achieve the profitable operations of all company stores. Rodman is now responsible for planning and developing merchandising assortments, buying programs and in-store presentations. He comes to the company from Dan's Supreme, Hempstead, N.Y., a member of Key Food Stores, Staten Island, New York City, where he oversaw deli operations.
Duane Reade Hires Two Supermarket Veterans
NEW YORK - Duane Reade here has added two former supermarket executives to its management team. Charles Newsom, most recently regional vice president of Winn-Dixie Stores, Jacksonville, Fla., has joined Duane Reade as senior vice president, store operations. He has also worked for Shop-Rite, Pueblo International, A&P, Riser Foods and Kroger Co. David D'Arezzo, most recently chief operating officer at Raley's, Sacramento, Calif., has joined Duane Reade as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. D'Arezzo has also held senior positions with Office Depot, Wegmans Food Markets and Pepsi-Cola.
Also, Jerry Ray, Duane Reade's current senior vice president, store and pharmacy operations, will serve as senior vice president, pharmacy operations. Robert Storch, a former officer of Duane Reade, has rejoined the company as vice president, pharmacy marketing and benefit management services.
All four are newly created positions. Ray, Newsom and D'Arezzo will report to Richard Dreiling, president and chief executive officer. Storch will report to Ray.
