LARRY'S MARKETS NAMES MACKECHNIE PRESIDENT
e last week named Barry MacKechnie to the newly created position of president, saying he would guide development and initiatives established by Mark McKinney, chief executive officer. MacKechnie most recently was CEO of RevX, a Bellevue, Wash.-based software company. He has nearly 30 years of management experience. MacKechnie's appointment will allow McKinney to focus on long-range growth plans and Clark Jordan, chief operating officer, to oversee day-to-day operations in Larry's six stores, the company said.
ALBERTSONS' JOHNSTON JOINS BOARD OF HOME DEPOT
ATLANTA -- The Home Depot here last week named Larry Johnston, chairman and chief executive officer of Albertsons, Boise, Idaho, to its board of directors. "Larry Johnston's success in leading a large retail business in a highly competitive environment will benefit our company greatly," said Bob Nardelli, chairman, president and CEO, Home Depot. Before joining Albertsons in 2001, Johnston spent 28 years with General Electric.
