MARSH SUPERMARKETS CFO ELBIN RESIGNSts here last week said John Elbin has resigned as chief financial officer and treasurer just one week after the company said it was considering putting itself up for sale. Elbin, who recently received a special $250,000 cash bonus following the refinancing the company's credit facility, was reported to have also been behind the company's plan to seek strategic alternatives.

ts here last week said John Elbin has resigned as chief financial officer and treasurer just one week after the company said it was considering putting itself up for sale. Elbin, who recently received a special $250,000 cash bonus following the refinancing the company's credit facility, was reported to have also been behind the company's plan to seek strategic alternatives. Marsh said Elbin "did not resign as a result of any inaccuracy in the company's financial statements," but instead because of disagreements with senior management over how to run the company. Marsh named Douglas W. Dougherty senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer to succeed Elbin. Dougherty was the company's chief financial officer for more than 10 years until he retired in May 2005, when he was succeeded by Elbin.

ZIGERELLI LEAVES MEIJER AFTER LESS THAN ONE YEAR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Larry Zigerelli has resigned as president of Meijer Inc. here for personal reasons, according to reports. Zigerelli had joined the privately owned supercenter operator in 2002 as senior vice president of marketing and advertising and became president in April of this year. Paul Boyer and Hank Meijer continue as co-chief executive officers.

A&P NAMES MACLEOD TO TOP MARKETING POST

MONTVALE, N.J. -- A&P has appointed Jennifer MacLeod to the new position of senior vice president, marketing and communications. She oversees marketing; advertising and promotion; internal communications; and public affairs, including media, community and government relations. She reports to Eric Claus, president and chief executive officer. MacLeod most recently was vice president of marketing and public relations for Co-op Atlantic, a retailer based in New Brunswick, Canada.

NASH FINCH TAPS MILLER AS NEW CONTROLLER

MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch said it has named Katherine L. Miller vice president and corporate controller. She succeeds Mark A. Sorensen, who resigned as vice president and corporate controller last month. Miller assumes Sorensen's role as principal accounting officer for the retailer and wholesaler. Miller, 52, most recently was vice president, controller and chief accounting officer for Deluxe Corp., a check-printing company in Shoreview, Minn.
