PRICE CHOPPER PROMOTES ROBERT DOYLE TO VP, TRANSPORTATION
has promoted Robert Doyle to vice president of transportation. He will report directly to Ron Cellupica, vice president of distribution. Doyle will be be held accountable for the transportation of products from around the world into the Price Chopper distribution centers and the delivery of these products throughout the 106-store chain. Prior to his promotion, Doyle held positions in store operations, human resources and the distribution center.
FRESHDIRECT NAMES NEW CEO, PRESIDENT
NEW YORK -- FreshDirect said yesterday that Dean Furbush has been appointed chief executive officer and Steve Michaelson has been named president of the Internet grocer here. Furbush, the former president of NASDAQ Transaction Services who joined FreshDirect as chief operating officer last October, replaces co-founder Jason Ackerman, who will continue in his role as chief financial officer and take on the additional role as vice chairman of the board of directors. Michaelson, a former senior vice president of Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans Food Markets, joins FreshDirect from Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa., where he most recently served as vice president of marketing and merchandising.
