Market here last week said that Hass Hassan will join the company's board of directors, increasing the number of directors from seven to eight. Hassan was president of Whole Foods rival Wild Oats Markets from 1995 to 1997, and in 1999 he founded Fresh & Wild, an organic food retailer in the United Kingdom, which was acquired last year by Whole Foods. The company also said it would divide its North Atlantic region into the North Atlantic and Tri-State regions effective Oct. 1, and it named Christina Minardi, formerly regional vice president of the North Atlantic region, to head the new division.
