The new board members are Robert R. Onstead, chairman of Randalls Food Markets and Tom Thumb, Houston; Ronald E. Johnson, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Kash n' Karry Food Stores, Tampa, Fla., and Michael E. Julian, chairman, president and CEO of Farm Fresh, Norfolk, Va.

The three executives were elected to the board as part of Jitney Jungle's reorganization, which resulted from a $373 million leveraged buyout of the chain in March by Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co., a New York-based investment firm.

Kmart Adds Vice Presidents

TROY, Mich. -- Kmart Corp. here has made several executive changes to focus on its operations and core business.

Robert Frame and Christine Cielak have been named operations vice presidents, new positions at the company. Both report to Paul J. Hueber, senior vice president of store operations.

Frame, who joined Kmart in 1970 and most recently was director of store operations, now implements and executes corporate store operations programs. Cielak, who has held several positions, including director of store support, since joining the company 25 years ago, is responsible for standardizing store processes and methods.

Frank O. Jones was appointed divisional vice president for price management. An independent retail consultant, Jones was involved in strategic planning and retail pricing at Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., and Smith's Food & Drug Centers, Salt Lake City. In the new post, he reports to Gary J. Ruffing, operations vice president.

Lisa A. Gelardi-Bottesi joined Kmart as assistant treasurer for cash operations and bank relations, succeeding Frank McClure, who was named assistant treasurer for cash management and trade finance. Gelardi-Bottesi worked for First Chicago NBD, where she managed the Kmart account. McClure has 25 years of experience in Kmart's treasury department and succeeds Ron Pauli, who left the company. They report to Michael J. Viola, vice president and treasurer.
