Pathmark Stores, Woodbridge, N.J., said same-store sales from supermarkets jumped 0.6% for the 13-week first quarter ended May 3, compared with a decline of 4.6% in the fourth quarter. First-quarter sales rose 1% to $922.3 million, while operating cash flow fell 10.9% to $48.3 million and operating earnings dropped 15.8% to $26.7 million.
