Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa., reported its eighth straight quarter of increased profit, with a 3.35% rise in net profit and an 8.98% jump in sales for the first quarter. Sales for the 13-week period ended March 30 rose to $433.2 million from $397.5 million in the year-ago period. Net profit rose to $19.7 million from $19.1 million.
