Penn Traffic Co., Syracuse, N.Y., said last week sales fell 8.2% for the second quarter and first half ended Aug. 2 -- to approximately $774 million for the quarter and approximately $1.5 billion for the 26 weeks -- while same-store sales declined 7.7% for the quarter and 7.9% for the half. The company said it expects to report full second-quarter results Sept. 4.
