OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fleming Cos. here plans to begin a rollout of its re-enginnering program in late January, the company said last week. The rollout will follow the launch of a pilot program at the Lincoln, Neb., distribution center on Sept. 19, which is the first step in the long-term re-engineering plan, Robert E. Stauth, chairman, president and chief executive officer, said last week.
Efficient Consumer Response initiatives, he added.
However, the spokesman declined to provide specifics.
As it rolls out, the new program will be introduced at Fleming's Portland, Ore., facility in late January, followed by its northern California warehouse in Sacramento and its Fresno, Calif., warehouse later in the year. The program will be introduced next in Phoenix, the spokesman said, and then move east.
