UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- MCA/Universal Home Video will release the recent theatrical movie "Flipper" as a direct-to-sell-through title on Oct. 8. "Flipper" will follow "ET: The Extra Terrestrial" in MCA's schedule of major fourth quarter sell-through titles. "ET" will street on Oct. 1. Later in the quarter, MCA will release another direct-to-video sell-through, "The Land Before Time IV: Journey Through the Mists," on Dec. 10. "Flipper" and "Land IV" will have a suggested retail price of $19.98, while "ET" will be priced at $14.98. Order close dates are Sept. 16 on "ET," Sept. 23 on "Flipper" and Nov. 25 on "Land IV." "Flipper" and "ET" will be supported by a mail-in rebate program in which customers can receive $3 with the purchase of both movies. In addition, MCA will hold a sweepstakes for a trip to the Bahamas for families of four as a grand prize. Ten trips will be given away. The title will be supported with a $3 mail-in rebate title for customers buying it along with "Wee Singdom: The Land of Music and Fun!" National advertising for the title will include television, print, radio and on-line promotions.
