WASHINGTON -- A new video from the Food Marketing Institute here is designed to help supermarket retailers combat store robberies.

The video highlights how proper and prompt communications are a necessity before, during and following a store robbery. The FMI also provides printed materials that supervisors, trainers and security associates can use during training programs.
The training video was produced in cooperation with the FMI's Coalition to Prevent Armed Robberies in Supermarkets. The group links security professionals from the supermarket, banking and armored carrier industries to discuss the tools needed to reduce the risk of robberies.
