WASHINGTON -- Food Marketing Institute's new MealSolutions show will feature a wider focus than FMI's earlier seafood and food-service conferences, and will include a show floor with exhibits.
es the primary source of meal solutions for today's convenience-seeking consumers, said an official of FMI, based here.
MealSolutions will encompass all fresh departments and their interactions with each other and with other departments to provide consumers with home meal replacement.
Exhibitors will be companies that market and sell products, equipment and services relevant to all perishables departments and value-added categories, as well as to departments that provide prepared/ready-to-eat products.
Workshop topics will include how supermarkets can create a business plan that will win a bigger share of consumers' food budgets, how chief executive officers are assessing the risks and rewards of home meal replacement, proven ways to integrate food service into the total store, and what the latest developments in value-added fresh and prepared foods could mean to the supermarket operation.
The show supplants FMI's annual food-service conference as well as the trade association's seafood conference.
