FORMER GRAND UNION EXECUTIVE SENTENCED

NEWARK, N.J. -- Donald C. Vaillancourt, former longtime executive with the now-defunct Grand Union Co., Wayne, N.J., was sentenced to three years in prison by the U.S. District Court judge here for embezzling more than $2 million from the company, a judge's assistant told SN. e to pay restitution of $2.56 million to Florham Park, N.J.-based Chubb Insurance Group, Grand Union's insurance provider.

e to pay restitution of $2.56 million to Florham Park, N.J.-based Chubb Insurance Group, Grand Union's insurance provider. Hansen also said Vaillancourt will be under supervised release for three years following his jail term, and cannot hold any position of fiduciary responsibility during that time.
