FORMER GRAND UNION EXECUTIVE SENTENCED

NEWARK, N.J. -- Donald C. Vaillancourt, former longtime executive with the now-defunct Grand Union Co., Wayne, N.J., was sentenced to three years in prison by the U.S. District Court judge here for embezzling more than $2 million from the company, a judge's assistant told SN. e to pay restitution of $2.56 million to Florham Park, N.J.-based Chubb Insurance Group, Grand Union's insurance provider.

NEWARK, N.J. -- Donald C. Vaillancourt, former longtime executive with the now-defunct Grand Union Co., Wayne, N.J., was sentenced to three years in prison by the U.S. District Court judge here for embezzling more than $2 million from the company, a judge's assistant told SN.

Hansen also said Vaillancourt will be under supervised release for three years following his jail term, and cannot hold any position of fiduciary responsibility during that time.
