SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Funeral services were scheduled here last week for Frank Draeger, president and chief executive officer of Draeger's Supermarkets in Northern California, who died unexpectedly July 2 at age 86. Draeger's operates three gourmet-oriented stores here and in Menlo Park and Los Altos. Draeger worked with his father in family-owned delicatessen and liquor stores before going into business with his brother in 1949. The company's newest store, which opened here in 1997, features a sausage kitchen and smokehouse, wine storage facilities, a full-service restaurant, a cooking school, and a cookware and cookbook department. Draeger is survived by his wife, Mary; his sister, Harriet Draeger; 10 children, six of whom work in the business; and 22 grandchildren.
