CRANBURY, N.J. -- Funeral services were held here Wednesday for James A. Burke, president for the past nine years of Twin County Grocers, Edison. N.J. Burke, 54, died Dec. 9 at the Merwick Unit of the Medical Center at Princeton, N.J. The cause of death was not given. Burke, who received an engineering degree from Lehigh University, joined Twin County in 1972 as director of engineering. He became group director of distribution in 1979 and president in 1986. Company officials could not be reached last week to discuss Burke's successor. Burke had served as a director of the National-American Wholesale Grocers' Association, the New Jersey Food Council and the New York State Food Merchants Association. Burke is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Gzik-Lutz Burke; two children, James Patrick Burke and Jacqueline Allyn Burke; his parents, and a sister.
