CHICAGO -- Food retailers and other industry executives came out to the Chairman's Reception and Dinner to toast the successful launch of the 1997 Supermarket Industry Convention and Educational Exposition here. The evening saw the presentation of the William H. Albers award to six individuals whose careers have helped smooth the relationship between retailers and suppliers. (See story, Page 94.) The gala was capped with the contemporary pop-music stylings of Anne Murray.
