"'Galaxy Quest' has proven to be a film with very broad appeal to the core video purchasers, families with kids," said a DreamWorks official. "As well, the movie appeals to non-parent adults because of its comedy spoof of the sci-fi television series genre. This broad consumer appeal is a perfect match for the supermarket demographic. We are going to support the sell-through release with a multimillion-dollar marketing campaign that will have heavy network, prime, cable and spot television."
