He said the new contract "protects jobs at the facility by getting the company's commitment that future transfers of work will not have a negative impact."

Wage increases included $1.65 over five years and a $5 pension increase for senior employees and $2.65 over five years for junior employees, Pecoraro said.

The contract that was rejected included hourly wage increases of $2.15 over the five years, plus maintenance of health benefits and improvements in pension benefits.
