The award, presented annually, recognizes specific suppliers who have supported the retailer in an "exemplary manner" through account service at the headquarters and retail level, as well as demonstrating ability in supporting Giant's EDLP strategy and creatively increasing sales, according to officials. As part of the honor, the 166-store retailer made a $500 contribution to the American Lung Association in Verdelli Farms' name, and appointed a company representative to Giant's vendor advisory board.
